JOIN MERCHANT NAVY: PAKISTAN MARINE ACADEMY NAUTICAL OR ENGINEERING CADET 202

The Pakistan Marine Academy has recently announced the registration timetable for the Nautical and Engineering Cadet programme 2021. Candidates willing to work in the maritime industry or the merchant navy can apply for PMA cadet courses based on open merit and self-finance. Applications must be submitted by September 17, 2021, at the latest. Deserving students can also apply for 37 completely paid scholarships. As a result, you can begin your career in the Merchant Navy for free by applying for a grant at Pakistan Marine Academy.

The PMA admissions office or the marine academy’s webpage both have application forms; the application processing cost of PKR 2500/- must be paid by bank draught or pay the order. Applicants for self-finance seats must provide a bank draft/pay order for PKR 300,000/-.

Eligibility Criteria for Pakistan Marine Academy 

    •       Unmarried male Pakistani nationals 

    •       Maximum age of 20 years on December 31, 2021

    •       Maximum age of 21 years for applicants from FATA/GB/AJK/Baluchistan 

    •       A minimum of 55 per cent in FSc Pre-engineering or equivalent. 

    •       Candidates who are awaiting their results may apply with a hope certificate.

At the academy, candidates will receive two years of training. NED UET Karachi will award an associate degree in ship management and marine engineering at the satisfactory conclusion of the course period. Candidates will also receive IMO-certified Pre-SEA courses.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted. It is vital to note that the PMA is not responsible for arranging post-education training or employment.

Scholarships for the Pakistan Marine Academy in 2021

Cadets are eligible for 37 fully-funded scholarships. The Ministry of Maritime Affairs provided thirty-three need-based scholarships, and the Global Radiance Group of Companies sponsored 04 need-based scholarships. The following is the allocation of 33 need-based scholarships supported by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs:

• Balochistan: 15

• KPK: 6

• Punjab: 6

• Sindh: 6

Procedure for applying in the Nautical and Engineering Cadet course at the Marine Academy

Candidates can visit and register on the Pakistan Marine Academy’s website at http://www.marineacademy.edu.pk.

The PMA Admissions Office and the PMA website both provide prospectuses and application forms.

Applicant are advised to submit an application form and a pay order/bank cheque for Rs. 2500 payable to Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi, National Bank of Pakistan (IBP), PMA Branch Code-0239. Candidates applying under the Self Finance Scheme (SFS) must provide an additional Rs. 300,000/- Pay order/bank draught along with their application form. If you are chosen based on open merit, your SFS fee would be returned.

Procedure for Choosing a Marine Academy in Pakistan

Hired Testing Services will conduct entrance tests in Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad(A.IK), Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sukkur.

To pass the entrance exam, you must score at least 45 percent.

Short-listed individuals will undergo medical examinations at specified Army/Navy/PAF hospitals.

The final decision of selection will be made based on merit, including a final interview session and PET, which is to be conducted at PMA.
